Notes

Married and lived in East Haddam (1st wife and children buried in Riverview Cemetery). From Dr. Stofko: On January 5, 1776 the government contracted with Captain Job Winslow to build one of four row galleys at East Haddam. This galley was called "The Crane" and was commanded by Captain Jehiel Tinker of East Haddam. By request of General Schuyler, Winslow was one of two captains of companies of ship builders send to Lake Champlain in the summer and fall of 1776 to build a flotilla of gondolas and galleys (one of which was "The Trumbull" commanded by Captain Seth Warner of East Haddam. Winslow continued to build large vessels at East Haddam throughout the war (list specifically again in 1781).
