Notes

In August, '81, shortly before marching to Virginia, Washington formed a battalion of four Light Companies and assigned Lieut. Col. Alexander Hamilton to their command. At the Siege they were attached to Lafayette's Light Division. Two of his four companies were detached from the New York and two from the Connecticut "Line". Ephraim Watkins temporarily served in Captain Weed's Company of this Battalion.
He also served in the final formation of Col. Heman Swift's Regiment from Jun to Dec 1783.
