Notes
From Dr. Stofko: Humphrey Lyon was the 2nd member of the Committee of Correspondence established on June 30, 1774. In 1776, he outfitted a small privateer which was driven onto the beach by the British at Narragansett. Later he fitted out the brigantine "Marshall" as a privateer. His warehouse was one of the depositories of State and Government salt in 1778.
